Timothy Wayne Wix, affectionately known as “Bones,” passed away on Friday, November 22, 2024, at the age of 54. He was a beloved member of the Gallatin community and will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Early Life

Timothy was born on August 8, 1970, in Gallatin, Tennessee, to the late Leonard Ray Wix and Carol Ann Pulley Wix. Growing up in a close-knit family, Timothy developed a strong sense of community and family values that would guide him throughout his life.

Family

In addition to his parents, Timothy was preceded in death by his stepfather, Larry Laughlin, who played a significant role in his upbringing. He is survived by his loving wife of 21 years, Ramona Durham Wix, who stood by him through thick and thin.

Timothy was a proud father to five children: Ben Denney (Maree) of White House, Terry Culberth (Kaitlin) of Portland, Michaela Freeman of Gallatin, Stephen Kinnard of Hendersonville, and Dalton Bain of Gallatin. He cherished his role as a father and was actively involved in their lives.

He is also survived by his brother, Donnie Wix (Melody) of Gallatin, and his mother and father-in-law, Linda and Alton Durham of Portland. Additionally, he leaves behind his brother-in-law, Calvin Durham of Portland, and two grandchildren, Alice Karasuda and Houston Hunter. Timothy was also the proud owner of a beloved dog named Gypsy Rose, who brought him joy and companionship.

Community and Interests

Timothy was known for his vibrant personality and his love for the outdoors. He had a passion for biking and was a cherished member of an extended biker family. His friends and family remember him for his adventurous spirit and his ability to bring people together.

Throughout his life, Timothy made a positive impact on those around him. He was always willing to lend a helping hand and was known for his generosity and kindness. His legacy will live on in the hearts of those he touched.

Funeral Arrangements

In honor of Timothy’s life, a funeral service will be held on Sunday, December 1st, at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Sellars Family Heritage at Gallatin. Bro. Robert Gilman will officiate the service. Visitation will take place on Saturday, November 30th, from 12:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., and again on Sunday, December 1st, from 12:00 p.m. until the time of the service.

Following the service, interment will occur at Bush’s Chapel Cemetery. Timothy’s friends will serve as pallbearers, including Josh Abernathy, Shane Craddock, Travis Hunter, Morgan Marks, Brandon Midkiff, and Eddie Munett. Honorary pallbearers will be Rufus Alexander and John E. Keith.

Memorial Contributions

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Sellars Family Heritage at Gallatin to assist with expenses during this difficult time. Contributions can be made online or in person at the funeral home.
